Village of Stuarts Point

Stuarts Point is a busy little village that swells tenfold in peak holiday season.The Caravan Park fronts the Upper Macleay River which is perfect for smaller kids as the water is quite shallow. A short walk accross the bridge takes you to the surf beach which is only patrolled at peak times. Along with the Club, Stuarts Point hosts a Cafe, SuperMarket, Newsagent and Butchers.

There is also petrol and diesel at the cafe and supermarket. The Upper Macleay has good fishing and crabbing also and deeper water can found a few kms south at Fishermans Reach.

Grassy Head

Grassy Head boasts one of the most picturesque beaches in Australia perfect for surfers and sun lovers alike. The beach is patrolled during school holidays and is generally fairly safe at the southern (patrolled end).

For those of you who like to get an "all-over" tan adjacent Middle Head Beach is an unofficial nude beach. Grassy Head has a great Holiday Park with plenty of shade and cabins as well. Bookings can be made on 02 65690230.

Yarrahappini Lookout

If you turn left at the Grassy Head turnoff you can make your way towards the Yarrahappini Lookout which has spectacular views all the way to Crescent Head. Its about a 30 minute drive on gravel roads but is well worth the trip.

Along the way you will pass through some of the most pristine rainforest you will see anywhere. There are BBQ and picnicking facilities along the way and at the top
